The 2009-2010 football league kicks off tonight with the dreaded Steelers taking on the Tennessee Titans. This season can’t start soon enough! We have our Coopers beer at the ready, and have been training for this all summer. I've spent countless hours drinking Coopers beer so I am prepared for whatever may come up. 4th quarter, tie game, 5 seconds on the clock, 4th and inches, my team comes up short and we go to overtime. Most are ready to pack it up, but that’s when my training kicks in and I reach for another cold one. Double OT? Triple OT? I’m ready! With the cheap prices of the Coopers Premium Series I can afford every game to go into overtime this year!
The Steelers are the defending champs, and are favored to win by 6.5 points tonight, but the Titans have beat the Steelers head-to-head 4 out of the last 5 times. The Titans have been beeting the Steelers at there own game, aka smash-mouth football, but in the offseason the Titans lost there pro-bowl DT Albert Haynesworth. It will be interesting to see if the Titans can still hold back the Steelers running games without the 6-6, 350 lb run stopper in the middle. It looks like the Steelers have the advantage and are ready to take the Titans to school, but regardless of the outcome, it looks like it will be a great game, and a great way to start the NFL season!
And now back to reality….
School is back in session. For most of us, routine is the name of the game now. We all intuitively are getting ready for the cooler days ahead. Many of us will spend our weekends getting our yards, decks and driveways ready for the winter. For some us it will mean chauffeuring our kids to and from school activities. We will be sitting or in some cases standing, freezing our buns off, at our kids’ games, be it Football, Soccer, track ect… Thankful that it is not raining! And even if it is, we will enjoy every minute of it… Tomorrow is the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and in honor of those who lost their lives that day, their families, friends, and the military men and women who are putting their life on the line to keep us safe, we will endure every second of those cold, miserable damp days, because we can. So, here at MakeBeer.net we will be raising our glasses proudly not so much in remembrance of the tragic events of that day, but in celebration of their lives…
